Today’s generation of young people is the largest the world has ever known. One in every three people alive today is under the age of thirty, and around ninety percent of these young people are living mainly in Asia and Africa. In Sri Lanka alone, nearly a quarter of the population is youth. They are a critical segment of the country’s population, and investing in their potential can play a huge role in how Sri Lanka achieves the vision of a sustainable tomorrow.
The iLEAD Hikkaduwa centre in Sri Lanka organized a transformative youth leadership programme in the month of March. Held for the 3rd consecutive time, the programme aimed to build the confidence, leadership skills and global perspective of iLEAD youth. The programme focused on leveraging the talent of the accomplished professionals to coach and inspire future leaders through the creation of a stimulating, inspiring, supportive learning opportunity for iLEAD students. A total of 39 students including two differently abled students participated in the camp representing the 33rd batch of iLEAD Hikkaduwa Centre.
