ENLIGHT – GIRL CHILD EDUCATION

Concept

“ENLIGHT – Girl Child Education” project is a joint initiative of Aide et Action and Capgemini to promote Access & Quality Education for girls living in difficult circumstances thereby giving them an opportunity to build a better future.

Target Group
10,000 girls living in difficult circumstances across a period of five years.

Abused Children
Children of Prisoners
Child victims of Crime
Children in Institutions
Children in Prostitution
Children with Disabilities
Children in conflict with Law
Missing Children Trafficked Children
Children infected/ affected by HIV/AIDS
Children affected by Natural Calamities and Civil unrest
Children of Commercial Sex Workers and other disadvantaged parents

The Project engages CAPGEMINI employees as ‘Mentors’ for the children!

The Project aims at building; Knowledge, Skills, Right Attitude, Dignity, Identity, Leadership, Philanthropy (giving back to the community – helping the community)

Quantum Leap 4 Quality Education (QL4QE)
The ‘Quantum Leap 4 Quality Education’ is the base concept for the project. The concept recognizes the multiple vulnerabilities faced by children and helps them to move beyond a certain threshold level (a Quantum Jump) thus protecting their opportunities for continued education amidst any form of disturbance in the external environment. The concept promotes competencies in reading, writing and arithmetic, functional English, computer skills and practical engagement in environmental regeneration.

Key Objectives
Strengthen Community based education governance (Effective functioning of schools).
Cognitive development of children via access to wider learning spaces through technology (ICT).
Access and quality Primary education to children in difficult circumstances (especially girl child).
Instill better health & hygienic practices, protection and restoration of environment amongst children.

Promoting community participation in school governance
Enhance competency levels and prepare children for higher education
Developing ICT skills & enabling children access wider sphere of knowledge
Building awareness on health hygiene and encouraging ecological restoration
Enhancing capacities of Teachers and promoting innovative and inclusive pedagogy
