Sustainable development and global citizenship education

90% of youth in the 15-24 year age group live in developing countries

Almost one-third of the population still lives under authoritarian regimes

The preservation and sharing of natural resources, managing the social consequences of climate change – these are just some of the challenges tomorrow’s environment will force us to face. To be able to do so calls for our collective awareness and responsibility, as well as international solidarity based on civil society. The same holds true for access to democracy. Determined to promote an education that makes it possible to develop responsible citizens, Aide et Action International works actively to include emerging challenges and their ethical dimensions in school programmes and to train teachers in this regard. It also helps strengthen civil society, in particular by supporting the involvement of the youth and youth associations.
